The Life and Times of the Heir and the Keeper

A Caspian University Novel

Etta King Image

They say college is a lot of things; a haven, a four-year party, the place you met the girl – or guy – of your dreams. What they don’t tell you is, the best part of college is the drama YOU bring to the table! After all, that dirty little secret, that not-so-little white lie, and those texts you wish you could erase from cyberspace can’t stay hidden forever. At CU, someone’s always watching, and you better hope there isn’t a camera phone on hand when you get caught.

It’s the Spring Semester, but it’s not all fun in the budding sun for Jon and Franz. Follow them as they delve through the politics of secret societies, the inevitable drama of the F-word (that’s FAMILY, for the uninitiated), creepy Resident Advisors, creepier residents and girls who don’t always say what they mean. Who wouldn’t need two months to recuperate?

Cheers! And GL!

Book One The Life and Times of Elizabeth and the Duchess Kindle  Paperback

ImageAbout the Author:

Etta King is the author of the Caspian University novels, a series chronicling the life and times of a group of wealthy teens who inevitably discover the various flavors of college drama. Etta writes from her personal experiences as a college co-ed and as the product of an all-girls prep school. Here she witnessed the very eccentricities and foibles which she depicts in her novels.

In a home filled with books, it was no surprise that Etta grew to be an avid reader, and that translated into writing when she was thirteen. She wrote simply for the fun of it, whatever would come to mind, from fantasy to thriller to romance, and shared her stories with her friends.

In 2010, at twenty-one and just as she was about to graduate from college, Etta began writing “The Life and Times of Elizabeth and the Duchess.” This was a story which had first taken shape in 2008, after her freshman year, but had been put on hold. With graduation looming, Etta recalled the characters, and the events which had inspired them, and took pen to paper. Literally, as Etta enjoys writing out her stories before typing them out. Soon the first book had been completed and the series was born.

“The Life and Times of the Heir and the Keeper,” comes as the sequel to “Elizabeth and the Duchess,” and serves as the second semester of these teens’ college saga. Etta is currently working on the third book, in what will be an eight-part series.

Etta King lives with her family in Westchester, New York.

#Review of Finding Claire Fletcher #book tour

I reviewed Finding Claire Fletcher as part of a blog tour. The book pulled me in from the very beginning and I found myself eager to get to the next page to find out what happened. The author did a wonderful job of portraying a tortured female, trapped for ten years by a deviant pervert, who’d kidnapped her from her normal life. I felt sympathy for the female character’s plight. I couldn’t imagine spending a decade being beaten, tortured and raped. The story moved at a wonderful pace, and the characters were very believable. It was far too easy to picture the events of this woman’s life. The suspense of watching Connor trying to find and save Claire is one that had me biting my nails as I continued to scroll page to page. On a scale of one to five, I’d give this a four and a half. Wonderful, believable read. I definitely plan to recommend this story to my friends.

Black Friday Book Bonanza Blog Hop

Black Friday. This is another word for madness. I know a lot of people who enjoy the crowds, the sales, Black Friday Book Bonanzathe shopping. I’m not one of them. I’d much rather stay in my safe, uncluttered home and watch the dozens of reports on crazy shoppers as the Noon news airs. Due to the wonderful advancement of the internet, there are a ton of places that allow shoppers to take advantage of Black Friday from the safety of their own homes. This, I might participate in. I especially love the book sales. I’m an avid reader. Guess that comes with the package of being a writer.

When I see a book on sale, I can’t resist hitting the buy button. For this reason, I’ve listed my self-published paranormal romance book Heart Over Mind for the low sale price of 99 cents, until December 1st. If you miss out on this opportunity, the price will go back up Heart Over Mindto $3.99, unless you buy the direct Kindle version, which is available for $2.99. I don’t believe in making readers pay an arm and leg for a book. Times are tough right now. No one knows that more than me. I have three kids and haven’t even started shopping yet!

Yes, I am a procrastinator. I am well aware of this. For the purpose of this blog hop, I will be giving away a free copy of Heart Over Mind to one lucky commenter. All you have to do is follow the simple rules below. Stay safe during the sales holiday and Merry Christmas!

  1. Follow my blog.
  2. Go to my fan page and hit like.
  3. Post a comment below, ANSWERING the question(it’s written below) and don’t forget to leave your email address. Anyone who doesn’t leave their contact info will be disqualified from the contest.

I will choose a winner using Random.org no later than Monday, November 28th.

Now for the question: Do you enjoy Black Friday sales? What’s one thing that could get you to risk the crowds?

EXCERPT: 18+ Only

The night was cool and clear, and the moon shone bright, surrounded by millions of stars. Nala walked along a riverbank, the dirt soft and cold beneath her bare feet. She was looking for someone. Through the hanging limbs of a weeping willow tree, and over a fallen log. Then, in the darkness, she made out the silhouette of a man. He stood with his back to her, naked. Just like her. She gasped as she looked down at her own exposed body. She felt unaffected. She kept moving towards the mystery man, her hand outstretched.

Her fingers brushed his tan, muscular shoulder and his body tightened. Then he turned around. He was such a handsome man; the most beautiful she had ever seen. Muscles corded his thick arms and jagged scars crisscrossed his left bicep and right forearm. Puckered white marks from what looked like bullet holes dotted his chest and stomach. There were dozens of other scars along his ribs, knees, thighs, and even one on his foot. Nala spent time studying each of them, using her fingers and then her tongue. Each flick seemed to push the man a little further into arousal.

His hand shoved into her thick, dark hair and jerked her head up. She watched, dazed, as his mouth began to lower towards hers. It seemed to take an eternity. Just as she thought she would die of deprivation, his firm lips covered hers. His tongue thrust past her lips, into the moist cavern of her mouth as his hands began an intimate search of her body. He stroked her in places she had never expected to be touched. Her breasts ached as he caressed them, his thumbs flicking over her hardened nipples. As his fingers dipped towards her throbbing center, she arched towards him.

He burrowed through the curls concealing her womanhood. Moving with slow purpose, he slipped a finger inside her wet, throbbing center. Waves of heat curled throughout her body as he thrust with alternating pace. Her breath caught as an unfamiliar feeling took over her body. Muscles clenched around the man’s finger as spasms took her away to a place of ecstasy. Nala clung to him as her body spiraled out of control. When she came back to earth, he was watching her, desire burning in his eyes. He reached for her hand and guided it down his stomach to his rigid male member.

Nala gasped at the size and hardness of it. Going by instinct alone, she began to slide her hand up and down. His eyes glazed over and his head went back on a groan. She increased her pace and smiled when he began to squeeze her arms. The faster she went, the tighter his grip became. He began to pant and then he stiffened up. “Oh Nala. I’m about to cum.”

Her hand kept working up and down his long, thick shaft as he began to get his release. “Do it Gabriel. I want you to.”

Cool air touched her skin and she looked down to see her dress inching down her body without anyone touching it. She looked at Gabriel, startled. He wore a smug grin.

“You’re not the only one with telekinesis.”

Nala giggled. The sound turned to a gasp as the dress dropped to a puddle of fabric at her feet, leaving her standing there in a pair of lavender thongs.
