INSATIABLE begins with private detective Sydney Rye living a simple, disciplined life in London, but when a dangerous man from her past calls, Rye finds she cannot turn him away. Robert Maxim explains that the daughter of a powerful friend has gone missing and he wants Rye to find her. In exchange he offers her something she had given up hope of ever having; freedom from her past.

With her dog, Blue, at her side, Rye meets up with her new partner, a handsome man she’s not sure she can trust. Heading for Mexico City, they go undercover, posing as husband and wife. After meeting with the bereaved parents, Rye starts to sense that there is more going on than just a missing girl. But it isn’t until they arrive in the Yucatan Peninsula, hot on the girl’s trail in Paradise, that all hell breaks loose. Sydney has to reach out for help from old friends and deal with the consequences of her past, if she’s going to find the girl and keep them all alive.

 EXCERPT:

Thunder clapped and my lips trembled at the intense sound. My lips give me away. I’ve learned to lie with my eyes: to smile with them when I feel disgust; to make them sparkle when I feel dread. My lips though, they curl at those I distrust and sneer at those who repulse me. They cling to an older version of me. They still think they belong to Joy Humbolt.

The rest of me is entirely Sydney Rye. Sydney’s arms are strengthened from endless hours of pushups and tricep presses, her stomach is hard from crunches and side bends. And my legs, I use my legs to run. I don’t know who Sydney Rye would be if she didn’t run.

I tested the water in the tub, and finding it almost unbearably hot, eased into it. Water lapped at my clavicles. I let my eyelids close til my lashes kissed.

They started as a buzzing, like the sound of bugs against a window screen at night. The noise grew louder and I could make out individual words in the din. Joy, joy, joy, joy, joy, joy it seemed to be twerping.

I sat up with a start in the cold bath. Water sloshed over the edge and I looked around wildly for a moment trying to recollect where I was. The honey and cream colored marble, the gold faucet, and my toenails painted sweet salmon pink. Mexico City, pretending to be Sydney Rye, pretending to be Melanie Franks.

I sat back in the tub but it was too cold so I climbed out. Wrapping myself in a big fluffy robe I walked back into the bedroom. Blane was where I left him, engrossed in paperwork. He glanced up at me and then back down at his notes. Blue lifted his head off the carpet and tracked me as I got underwear, socks and a sports bra out of a drawer and then walked to my suitcase to pull out jogging shorts, a tank top and my running shoes. Seeing the shoes Blue stood and came over to me. His tail wagging, he tried to follow me into the bathroom but I closed the door.

I changed quickly while preparing myself mentally for the physical challenge ahead. I loved to run but had trouble taking that first step. Blue was a great help with this as he had no problem getting out the door. Blue did not have half the problems I did. He woke up in the morning without an alarm, he ate perfectly balanced meals; Blue’s life was filled with easy discipline. Mine came at more of a price.

Out on the street the rain had stopped. I walked a couple of blocks just letting my body warm up to the idea of movement. It didn’t take long before I wanted to run. I started going a little faster, jogging gently past shop windows filled with pencil-thin, faceless mannequins posing in extraordinary fabrics. A woman teetering on stiletto heels while jabbering into her cell phone walked a small, white, curly-haired dog. The little dog strained against its pink halter, yapping at us. Blue’s head stayed straight and even with my hip. The little dog’s bark faded as we turned onto a side street filled with shade, the sticky sweet scent of flowers, and the soft whoosh of a breeze. My pace picked up as I tread on fallen bright purple petals. I felt my heart quickening as Chapultepec Park rose up ahead.

Crossing into the park, I began a sprint. A line of families waiting to enter the zoo watched us pass. Little arms shot out to point at Blue, whispers of “lobo” followed us.

I felt like I was flying. Not a thought entered my head only the joy of speed as I raced down an empty path. When my chest felt like it was on the verge of explosion and my legs were no longer communicating I slowed down. The path under my feet was a light sand. The trees around me bent and swayed in the gentle wind. I relished the shade and mild temperature, the occasional gust that helped cool me.

My body recovered quickly and I picked up my pace again. My first trainer, a man named Merl who Mulberry sent to me in Puerto Penasco, taught me not to, as he put it, “blow my load” at the beginning of a jog. I tried to keep my pace steady as Blue and I wandered down paths that wound past lakes, families picnicking on large green fields, and shrubs pruned into abstract shapes.

Coming off a shaded trail into an opening, I looked up against the sun and saw the back of six columns in a semi-circle. I raced up the steps, taking them two at a time (not thinking about Rocky, or at least trying to avoid the comparison). At the top I stopped to catch my breath. Turning away from the columns toward the city, I looked out over a large boulevard. It looked like it went on forever. I felt that the whole of the metropolis lay before me.

Meet the Sullivans #bookreview #amreading

I’m participating in a HUGE blog tour, hosted by Novel PubliciSullivan Tour Badgety. This tour is major, with a ton of awesome prizes, and the chance to be introduced to some great bloggers. The Sullivan series follows one large family, and each book is about one sibling falling in love. The good thing about this series, besides the great sex scenes, incredible emotions and wonderful characters is that it’s not required to read them in order. I started with Book 3, continued with Book 4 and skipped to Book 1 for my third choice. At my current rate, I’m finishing a book a day. I’m pretty sure I’ll be suffering from withdrawals when I finish the series! Now, before I give my review on Book 3, Can’t Help Falling In Love, I want to let everyone know what’s up for grabs just by participating in this tour.

The Prizes:

* iPad Mini
* Kindle Fire
* Nook Color
* Kobo eReader
* $100 Amazon gift cards (7 prizes)
* $50 Amazon gift cards (2 prizes)
* $25 Amazon gift cards (8 prizes)
* $20 iTunes gift cards (10 prizes)
* Custom prize baskets for EACH of the 7 books–including items such as wine gift set, silver bracelets, romantic photo books and photo frames, eReader and smart phone skins, and MUCH, MUCH more!

If you’re a fellow blogger and want to join in on such a huge tour, check out Novel Publicity. There’s prizes up for grabs for every blogger involved as well. Definitely worth a few minutes of your time, don’t ya think?

My Thoughts:

I started reading this book to ease a case of boredom. By page 20, I was hooked and couldn’t stop. I heard a lot of complaining from my husband and children because I refused to leave my computer until I’d reached THE END. The entire book took me two hours to read and I couldn’t wait to get started with the next book. The author did a wonderful job of creating a believable story, with memorable characters. I’m an avid reader and I rarely find characters with such depth, that I can actually relate to. I enjoyed watching sexy firefighter Gabe fall for conservative Megan and her spunky daughter Summer. As a female who had to go through a brief stint of being a single mom, I really appreciated the way the author showed the struggles of a young mom, who was reluctant to start a relationship, for fear of how it would impact her young daughter.

Gabe is a woman’s dream man. He loves children, and goes out of his way to include little Summer in the outings with him and Megan. I’m a sucker for men who love children, and have a high respect for any man who can take on the responsibility of another person’s child. Gabe was easy to fall in love with. Not only was he a great father figure but an incredible lover. The sex scenes in this story are super hot and erotic, without being trashy or unbelievable. My temperature certainly rose a few degrees after finishing just one of these books. By the time I’m finished with the whole series, it may take more than a cool shower and chilly weather to keep me from getting brain damage.

On a scale of one to five, I’d give this story a straight five, which is rare for me since I’m always finding some fault with every story I read. This is definitely a book I’d recommend buying.

BLURB: Cover-3-Cant-Help-Falling-In-Love-196x300

Gabe Sullivan risks his life every day as a firefighter in San Francisco. But after learning a brutal lesson about professional boundaries, he knows better than to risk his heart to his fire victims ever again. Especially the brave mother and daughter he saved from a deadly apartment fire…and can’t stop thinking about.

Megan Harris knows she owes the heroic firefighter everything for running into a burning building to save her and her seven-year-old daughter. Everything except her heart. Because after losing her navy pilot husband five years ago, she has vowed to never suffer through loving – and losing – a man with a dangerous job again.

Only, when Gabe and Megan meet again and uncontrollable flames of desire ignite between them, how can he possibly ignore her courage, determination, and beauty? And how can she deny not only his strong bond with her daughter…but the way his sweetly sensual kisses are challenging her to risk everything she’s been guarding for so long?

This winter, if one – or both – of them aren’t careful, they just might end up falling in love.

Back to the Blogasphere

As I work on promoting my new books, I realized it’s been almost a year since I’ve published anything to my blog. Time has flown by and I’ve went through some dramatic changes. My mind has become full circle back to my passion of writing. I’ve just published four books, two novels and two short erotica stories. I’ve chosen the self-publishing route once again and hope it pays off. In addition to these books, I’ve also managed to finish the one novel which has plagued me since the beginning of my writing career. With it came the blank slate of not knowing where to go next. However, I refuse to allow myself to bask in my accomplishments and I’m hard at work on finishing the revisions for my first ever Suspense/Thriller. With luck, I’ll have both of these books ready to be released to the public before the end of the year.

To celebrate the upcoming Christmas holiday, and the publishing of my work, I’m giving away a free copy of my short Erotica Christmas story to anyone who comments on this post. And that’s not all…One lucky winner will get a choice of either of my Paranormal Romance novels. Pregnant men, or a sexy bodyguard. Which would you choose? If you don’t win, don’t be dismayed. For a limited time, each of my books are on sale for just $0.99! Be sure to follow my blog and leave your email in the comments box for your chance to win. And share with your friends! Everyone loves a sexy, naughty Santa!

I’ve been Spotlighted!

A wonderful blogger has set up a post just for me. I feel so special. She offered her readers a blurb of my book, a steamy excerpt, and my author bio. Hope it converts to at least one or two new readers. I sure could use a different stroke of luck in my writing. It isn’t going too well right now.

Review for A Familiar Tangle with Hell

“A Familiar Tangle In Hell” was an interesting read. In the first few pages, I wondered if I would enjoy the story, as it seemed a bit on the religious side. I stuck with it and soon threw my trepidation out the window. The sex scenes were graphic and hot. I thoroughly enjoyed reading the demon Familiar Charun and his witch, Tina getting it on. I loved how the author incorporated Greek mythology, portions of the Bible, erotica and romance to create the perfect combination. The descriptions were vivid and it almost felt like I was watching a movie rather than reading a book. There were a few small areas where the story dragged a little but it would soon pick up and I’d be reading faster than my phone could respond. My favorite part of the whole story is the bunny! Once you read the story, you’ll understand what I mean.

For anyone who enjoys stories of sex, demons, the Devil, the battle between Heaven and Hell, or just magic and sexy men in general, this could be a story you would enjoy devouring.

Review of “My Life as a Sex-O-Gram”

My Life as a Sex-O-Gram

Thanks to a friend on Facebook, I downloaded this book from Amazon for free. The title caught my eye and I thought it would be a fascinating book to read. This story is told in the first person narrative and it’s a lot of walking through the scenes. The abrupt sexual scenes and behaviors surprised me quite a bit. The scenes were graphic and explicit, which I enjoyed. I did notice a lot of redundancy in the phrases, which meant that the writer repeated the same thoughts multiple times. As a fellow writer, this automatically caught my attention, though a regular reader probably wouldn’t notice.

Despite these few minor technical issues, the story was different from anything I’d ever read and made me think more of a fictional journal or memoir than an actual story. There was no plot line, conflict, climax or resolution. The character didn’t experience any sort of life altering scenario, other than deciding to branch out on her own from a stripper-o-gram to a basic prostitute.

If readers enjoy hot sex, very descriptively written out, anal sex, F/F, multiple partners, masturbation, and/or domination, this may be a book you’d pick up. For readers who are not interested in any of this stuff, you may want to find a different book, as this story contains a scenario of each and more.

I’d rate this book a 3.5.

As things get dangerous, Gabriel has to force his mind to focus on the case, and not the lust burning him alive.

Unable to Resist…

As Broncestan’s attacks get stronger, and more dangerous, Nala finds it more important than ever to experience the kind of relationship she’d always wanted, but never had. Seeing Nala suffer at the hands of a power-hungry Damned soul, Gabriel realizes keeping his distance isn’t working. Soon, they give in to the passion and proclaim their love. Their Future Looms in the Balance…
Will they ever be able to defeat Broncestan and enjoy a relationship together or are they doomed to live their lives alone and miserable?

And now…for the twelve sentences…

“Nala, you have to stop.”

She heard the strained words and felt the strength of his hands at her waist, but kept going.

“In a minute.”

She could feel it building. Her breath came in pants as the first ripples started.

“Open your eyes.”

She obeyed his command. Her eyelids felt heavy as she forced them to open against the pleasure. When Gabriel started to glow a pale white, Nala gasped. She looked at her own hands in surprise. She was glowing too.

“Gabriel, what’s happening?”

 willow tree

The night was cool and clear, and the moon shone bright, surrounded by millions of stars. Nala walked along a riverbank, the dirt soft and cold beneath her bare feet. She was looking for someone. Through the hanging limbs of a weeping willow tree, and over a fallen log. Then, in the darkness, she made  out the silhouette of a man. He stood with his back to her, naked. Just like her. She gasped as she looked down at her own exposed body. She felt unaffected. She kept moving towards the mystery man, her  hand outstretched.

Her fingers brushed his tan, muscular shoulder and his body tightened. Then he turned around. He was such a handsome man; the most beautiful she had ever seen. Muscles corded his thick arms and jagged scars crisscrossed his left bicep and right forearm. Puckered white marks from what looked like bullet holes dotted his chest and stomach. There were dozens of other scars along his ribs, knees, thighs, and even one on his foot. Nala spent time studying each of them, using her fingers and then her tongue. Each flick seemed to push the man a little further into arousal.

His hand shoved into her thick, dark hair and jerked her head up. She watched, dazed, as his mouth began to lower towards hers. It seemed to take an eternity. Just as she thought she would die of deprivation, his firm lips covered hers. His tongue thrust past her lips, into the moist cavern of her mouth as his hands began an intimate search of her body. He stroked her in places she had never expected to be touched. Her breasts ached as he caressed them, his thumbs flicking over her hardened nipples. As his fingers dipped towards her throbbing center, she arched towards him.

He burrowed through the curls concealing her womanhood. Moving with slow purpose, he slipped a
finger inside her wet, throbbing center. Waves of heat curled throughout her body as he thrust with alternating pace. Her breath caught as an unfamiliar feeling took over her body. Muscles clenched
around the man’s finger as spasms took her away to a place of ecstasy. Nala clung to him as her body spiraled out of control. When she came back to earth, he was watching her, desire burning in his  eyes. He reached for her hand and guided it down his stomach to his rigid male member.

Nala gasped at the size and hardness of it. Going by instinct alone, she began to slide her hand up and
down. His eyes glazed over and his head went back on a groan. She increased her pace and smiled when he began to squeeze her arms. The faster she went, the tighter his grip became. He began to pant and then he stiffened up. “Oh Nala. I’m about to cum.”

Her hand kept working up and down his long, thick shaft as he began to get his release. “Do it
Gabriel. I want you to.”
